I’m Ray Pace, short and simple, seven letters. I’ve toyed with the idea of having an exotic pen name, but in the end figured it was just more crap to have to deal with.
I know some writers have a different pen name for each genre they write in. I don’t get that. I’ve been a general assignment reporter, covering everything from frothy festivals to murders and political defections. Imagine having a different byline for each of those.
I live on the Big Island of Hawaii. It’s a wonderful place from which to look at what the rest of the United States has become, or maybe always was and people are finally waking up to it.
A good writer is open to experiences. Every person has a certain truth they tell themselves about the world. If you listen for that truth, you’ll find a wealth of material for a character in your novel.
